boraident® Sidetest: Detection of tin and air side of float glass
Due to the manufacturing process, both sides of float glass panes, the so called tin and air side, have different chemical compositions. They are not visible for the human eye but have different properties and, thus, different behaviors in manufacturing and finishing processes. As examples crack initiation, wettability and coating reactions can be cited.
Reliable identification of both sides of the glass surface is thus necessary for optimal quality assurance. With our sensor system boraident® Sidetest, we offer an analyzing instrument for the automated identification of tin and air side of float glass.
